what tickr is

• Bite-sized daily lessons (about five minutes) on saving, investing, credit, and market basics.
• Quizzes that reinforce concepts. No timers. No fake currency.
• A streak system that rewards consistency, the same way Duolingo rewards practising a language.
• A friendly mascot named Buck — a cartoon bull — who explains things in plain English.

what tickr is not

• Not a brokerage. Your teen cannot buy, sell, or trade anything on tickr.
• Not a financial advisor. We teach concepts — we do not recommend specific investments.
• Not gambling. There are no real-money outcomes, no leveraged sims, no betting mechanics.
• Not a game your teen spends money inside. Pro features (when launched) are an optional flat subscription, not loot boxes or microtransactions.

safety & design choices

• 13+ only. We ask age at signup and gate accordingly.
• Email-only signup via magic link. No password to remember, no third-party social login required.
• No public profiles by default. No DMs. No friend requests. No comment sections.
• No location sharing. No personalised advertising. We do not sell data.
• Bot protection on signup (Cloudflare Turnstile) to keep things spam-free.

privacy

We collect the minimum we need: an email, lesson progress, and a chosen display name. The full policy is at usetickr.com/privacy. If you ever want your teen’s account deleted, email us and we’ll do it the same day.

what it costs

All core lessons are free, permanently. We may launch an optional pro tier with extras — but the foundational curriculum stays free forever. Your teen does not need to enter a payment method to use tickr.

who built this

tickr is built by Cyrus Emami and Michael Chun — two 16-year-olds, still in high school, who want to fix what school missed. We’re not VC-funded yet. We’re not selling your teen’s data. We just think the next generation deserves to understand money before they have to deal with it.
